As usual, the stars were out in the Hamptons this weekend, but this time it wasn’t just a getaway. The rich and famous were out in force for a fundraiser Saturday benefiting The Apollo Theater in Harlem.
The event, dubbed A Night of Legends, featured performances from by singer-songwriter John Legend, Philadelphia-based hip-hop artists The Roots, songstress Mary J. Blige and legendary soul man Sam Moore.
The performance, which reportedly raised more than $700,000, was held at investor Ronald Perelman’s 57-acre East Hampton estate, The Creeks. Perelman is also an Apollo board member.
Event organizers included Citigroup chairman Dick Parsons and rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
Individual tickets cost $1,500. Attendees included the likes of Richard Gere, Christie Brinkley and Lorne Michaels, just to name just a few.
