Heather Locklear’s Daughter Excited About Mom’s Wedding

The actress says 14-year-old Ava couldn't be happier to see her mom walk down the aisle

Newly engaged Heather Locklear already knows who would make the perfect bridesmaid — her daughter Ava Sambora. Locklear says her 14-year-old with ex-husband Richie Sambora couldn’t be more thrilled about the impending nuptials.

“Ava was so excited when we told her,” Locklear, 50, tells People Magazine. “She hugged Jack (Wagner), said congratulations, and she immediately wanted to see the ring. Then she ran and Facebooked her new stepbrother.”

Locklear and Wagner, 52, will have a blended family that also includes Wagner’s two sons with ex-wife Kristina Wagner — 21-year-old Peter, and Harrison, 16.

Ava says she’s happy to support her mother’s engagement.

“I want her to do what makes her happy,” explains Ava. “That’s the main point.”

Bon Jovi Passed Over For Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Again!

Another year, another group of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On the list: Guns and Roses, Donovan, the Cure, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more.

Not on the list: Bon Jovi

Last year, the band was nominated for induction but didn’t make the final cut. This time around, they didn’t even get a mention when the nominees were announced earlier this week.

According to reports, the Hall denied the group entry last year, arguing that the popular New Jersey group lacked the “artistic merit required for enshrinement.” Supporters, on the other hand, argued how few groups were still capable of filling stadiums – Something Bon Jovi does on a regular basis.

People have come out on both sides of the issues, and both sides have valid arguments..

What do you think? Does Bon Jovi belong in the Hall of Fame?

Richie Sambora Will Rejoin Tour After Rehab Stay

Richie Sambora has left rehab and is headed back to the Bon Jovi tour. The guitarist is set to rejoin the band in Europe.

Sambora went to rehab in late April for exhaustion and alcohol use after spending most of last year out on tour.

Jon and the rest of the band have reportedly been very supportive of Sambora’s decision to enter rehab.

Gibson.com reported the temporary replacement for Sambora during his absence was Phil X, or Philip Xenidis. He is a session guitarist who has also played guitar for Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Chris Cornell, among others.

New York Daily News reports that Bon Jovi is set to be touring Europe through the end of July, and Sambora is likely to rejoin the band for its performance in Croatia.

Good luck Richie!

Jon Bon Jovi Sucks At Rock Band

The next time you play Rock Band don’t invite Jon Bon Jovi. The 49-year-old singer’s wife and kids recently convinced him to give the popular video game a try. So he picked up the microphone and launched into a rendition of his classic “Wanted Dead or Alive,” backed by family on virtual guitars and drums. He never made it through the song.

“I failed–it buzzed me down,” Jon Bon Jovi admits over lunch in Manhattan. “So I stood up off the couch and I said, ‘All right, goddamn it, press play.’ They did it again, I failed again, and I said, ‘Everybody’s going to bed. That’s the end of this. Turn that shit off.’”

Luckily, audiences in real arenas around the world are kinder. His band took home $125 million over the past 12 months, more than than Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Kanye West combined. In the past year the band has played 74 gigs in 15 nations, grossing $203 million in ticket sales and $20 million in merchandise

Richie Sambora Checking Into Rehab

Bon Jovi singer Richie Sambora recently checked into rehab for exhaustion and to regain his sobriety.

A source told Radar Online that “Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together.”

“I think this was a culmination of all the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself,” added a friend.

Sambora sought treatment twice in 2007. A year later, he was charged with a DUI in Laguna Beach, CA, while his 10-year-old daughter was in the car.

Despite this recent development, Bon Jovi’s upcoming concert tour will go on.

According to a rep for the band, Richie “will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being” — but the rep adds, “We very much look forward to his healthy return.”

“Our support for Richie is absolute,” the band said in a statement. “He is, and will remain, a member of Bon Jovi.”

Jon Bon Jovi Slams Steve Jobs In Interview

Jon Bon Jovi is accusing Apple co-founder Steve Jobs of “killing” the music industry with iTunes.

“Kids today have missed the whole experience of putting the headphones on, turning it up to 10, holding the jacket, closing their eyes and getting lost in an album; and the beauty of taking your allowance money and making a decision based on the jacket, not knowing what the record sounded like, and looking at a couple of still pictures and imagining it,” he says in The Sunday Times Magazine. “God, it was a magical, magical time.

“I hate to sound like an old man now, but I am, and you mark my words, in a generation from now people are going to say: ‘What happened?’” he goes on. “Steve Jobs is personally responsible for killing the music business.”

Jeremy Horwitz, Editor-in-Chief of iLounge posted a response to Jon Bon Jovi, where he hit the nail on the head.

I remember the “old days”, when I’d drop $15 on an album because I liked the new song from artist XYZ. I get home, throw the album in the player, and I’d find out that 11 of the 13 songs were garbage! After getting burned one too many times, I started buying the singles instead.

iTunes was a godsend!! Now I could listen to each song (90-second preview) and decide which songs I really wanted, and which ones I could live without. The burden is on the artist to put out better music that I’d be compelled to purchase, or lose out on my $$.

Don’t even get me started on the price of concert tickets today! :(

Bon Jovi Grosses $200 Million in 2010!

It’s hard to imagine, but Bon Jovi’s 2010 tour grossed over $200 million, the most of any musical act according to Pollstar. The group performed 80 shows, including 27 international dates, selling an average of 36,000 tickets at $105 a pop for a nightly gross of $3.8 million. Nearly 2 million fans watched the band perform in a year that saw the top 50 tours gross $2.93 billion, down 12% from last year’s $3.34 billion.

So how much of that initial figure actually makes its way into Bon Jovi’s pockets?

First of all, it’s important to remember that the $200 million is a gross figure, meaning it doesn’t account for the costs associated with holding a concert. These charges (which include money paid to venues, concert promoters, security, etc.) tend to eat up at least half of the gross. Even the most successful artists tend to take home just 30-40% of the gross.

Let’s give Bon Jovi the benefit of the doubt and say they’re getting 40%. That puts the band’s cut at $80 million. But don’t forget an additional 10-20% off the top for management and legal fees. We’ll call it 15%, reducing the total to $68 million. Add in another $20 million in merchandise sales, and that brings the total to $87 million for the band for a year of the road.

Taxes will lop off another 35% or so, leaving about $57 million to split between the band’s five members. That sounds like reason enough to convince just about anybody to go on the road for a year.

No wonder they’ve got 44 more shows lined up through July!

Jon Bon Jovi Planning For A Solo Album?

It’s a long way off, but Jon Bon Jovi is already hatching plans for August, after he and his band wrap up their recently extended tour next year.

“I’m going to sit on a beach for August, which is usually what I do, and come September figure out what’s next,” Bon Jovi tells Billboard.com. Some possibilities? “A smaller-sounding solo record and/or focus more on the philanthropy and sports ownerships,” he says. “I don’t see any acting in the immediate future. It’ll be out of the political cycles, and there’s nothing else I wish I could do. I’m not a coulda, shoulda, woulda kind of guy. If I wanted to do it, I tried it, so it’s not like I have any hidden desire to become a chef or anything.”

If he does take the solo album route, Bon Jovi predicts he’ll go for “a lyric-driven, acoustic-sounding kind of thing with piano, a couple guitars, a B3 (organ) and a violin. I do these solo things oftentimes for charity, and I enjoy the atmosphere because it really gives the singer a chance to sing. You’re not competing with the loud amps. So I could see myself doing a singer’s type of a record. We’ll see.”
