Bon Jovi Fires Their Longtime Manager
Jun 21st

Perez Hilton is reporting that Bon Jovi fired their longtime manager Jack Rovner, after it was reported that he messed up several times during their current promotional tour.
The first snafu occurred when $1,000 VIP tickets were sold that included a meet-and-greet with the band, however fans complained that after shelling out the dough, they were never granted access to meet the band.
Then, Rovner booked an “artist in residence” gig on NBC, which prevented them from promoting their new album The Circle on other networks.
And the real topper was when he was responsible for the Showtime documentary When We Were Beautiful, in which “Jon makes the rest of the band admit they are paid employees and owe everything to him.”
When Rovner was reportedly told he was “lucky to have a job” after sending his lawyer Michael Guido to ask Jon for a raise, Bon Jovi decided to take a stand and tell their side of the story:
Though I personally live for and love Page Six, I’m sorry to say that the tidbit you have received regarding the split between Vector Management and Bon Jovi is inaccurate. The boring truth is we decided to go in different directions and thanked both Jack and his team for a great job. He is and will remain a close friend and someone who I will be very grateful to for his dedication.
A spokeswoman for Vector Management said, “Jack and everyone at Vector are very proud of the work they did [with Bon Jovi] together over the last five years, including their first Grammy awards, first No. 1 chart debuts globally, and even a No. 1 on the country charts. Vector continues to represent the nation’s top-selling acts, including Kings of Leon, Kid Rock, Dierks Bentley and many others.”
I’m sure there’s probably more to the story than they’re letting on, but at least they’re putting on a nice face for the public.
Philadelphia Soul Returns To AFL Without Bon Jovi
Jun 16th

The Philadelphia Soul is no longer a thing of the past.
After what will be a two-year hiatus, the franchise will make a return to the Arena Football League next season. But it will do so without former high-profile owner, Jon Bon Jovi, who’s focusing his attention on the Bon Jovi world-wide tour.
New owners Cosmo DeNicola and Pete Ciarrocchi will join Craig Spencer and former Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski, members of the original ownership group. Ciarrocchi is the owner of the sports bar Chickie’s and Pete’s. DeNicola is the former owner of the Wilkes Barre/Scranton AF2 franchise.
“We are bringing back to our incredible fans the most exciting, fan-friendly and affordable brand of football in America,” Jaworski said in a statement Tuesday. “My partners and I are committed to putting together a championship team for this great city to be proud of.”
The Soul won the ArenaBowl XXII championship in 2008. Shortly afterward, the league canceled its 2009 season because of financial difficulties. Teams were losing an average of $1.5 million a season due to a struggling economy. The new version of the AFL began in April with 15 teams.
League commissioner Jerry Kurz announced in February that there were serious negotiations to bring teams to Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Denver and Southern California in 2011. The Soul’s return became official Tuesday.
According to a source, the league will also announce the return of the Kansas City and San Jose franchises this weekend.
“We are thrilled to reward our fans with the return of a stronger, fiscally stable Philadelphia Soul franchise,” Spencer said. “While we shared the frustration of every fan when the league shut down, we also believed it was essential for the sport’s long-term success. Today’s announcement is further testament to that belief and that the league is back and stronger than ever.”
The 2011 regular season begins next April and will run through July, 2011 leading into the playoffs.
“The AFL is pleased to welcome the Philadelphia Soul back to the Arena Football family,” Kurz said. “The passionate fans of Philadelphia and the surrounding area as well as the tremendous ownership group epitomize Arena Football and the league’s continued commitment to the communities we serve.”

David Bergman has been posting some awesome pictures from various Bon Jovi concerts on his website, and even selling prints through his company, TourPhotographer.com.

Jon Bon Jovi has granted him unprecedented access to shoot from the stage and put remote cameras around the arena. He’s been mounting a Nikon D3 and 24-70 lens in front of Tico Torres’ drum set and triggering it wirelessly throughout the show using Pocket Wizard transceivers.

Bon Jovi Kicks Off O2 Residency
Jun 8th

Bon Jovi have launched their London O2 Arena residency, returning to the venue they officially launched three years ago.
Rob Hallett, AEG Live president of international touring, is predicting that tickets sales for the band’s current tour will easily out-perform the 2007-2008 Lost Highway trek.
The band’s AEG Live promoted London residency, which began last night (June 7th) with the first of 12 sell out shows at the O2 Arena and stretches until June 26th, will see the band perform to over 175,000 people, according to Hallett. (The O2 Arena has a 23,000 capacity although many rock and pop shows are configured at around 17,000).
The New Jersey rockers staged an audacious roof-top gig at London’s O2 Arena yesterday to launch their 12-night run. Performing in windy conditions on a temporary stage located in the middle of the O2’s domed roof, the band played four songs — “We Weren’t Born To Follow,” “Superman Tonight,” You Give Love A Bad Name” and “It’s My Life” – before beginning the 30-minute descent, assisted by mountaineering experts.
“We like to push the envelope and do things that people normally don’t do,” guitarist Richie Sambora explained after the roof top gig. “We like to do stuff that has impact because I think that people remember those things as big events and they become part of rock lore, part of history and part of rock culture.”
In June 2007, Bon Jovi became the first band to perform at the O2 arena, officially opening the AEG owned venue.
Bon Jovi’s previous world trek, the Lost Highway tour, was the biggest grossing tour of 2008. The mammoth global trek, which was also promoted in North America and Europe by AEG Live, grossed $210.6 million and drew 2,157,675 fans, according to Billboard Boxscore (Billboard.biz, Dec. 11, 2008).
Hallett predicts that the band’s current “The Circle Ttour, which began back earlier this year and culminates at the end of 2011, will supersede that figure.
“We’ll beat Lost Highway easily,” says Hallett. “I can’t see anyone coming close to this tour. U2 would have been our only challenger but unfortunately Bono’s hurt his back and we hope that he recovers quickly. But Bon Jovi, I think, will be head and shoulders above anyone else.”
“To actually remain contemporary after all these years is cool, man,” says Sambora. “Let’s face it, there’s not that many bands doing it anymore,” he goes on to say before revealing that retirement for the veteran rock band is still a long way off yet.
“Absolutely man. This ain’t stopping. We’re having too much fun. We’re going to come and do a proper stadium tour of the European continent next summer and we’re going to release a greatest hits around fall with some new tracks on it.”
He continues, “About three weeks ago Jon calls me up and says, ‘let’s write a couple more songs just for fun.’ So we wrote a couple of songs and they turned out real good… So there’s now four new songs on the greatest hits. We haven’t released a greatest hits since 1995 so that will give us product through to the summer of 2011.”
Sambora also joked that the band’s decision to hold a 12-date residency at London’s O2 Arena was down to drummer Tico Torres.
“Tico made a decree and said, ‘we will not move for a month,’ and that was the end of it,” said Sambora.
Is Denise Richards back with Richie Sambora?
Jun 7th

Hollywood actress Denise Richards has reportedly rekindled her romance with ex-boyfriend and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.
The former James Bond girl briefly dated rocker Sambora in 2006 following the breakdown of their marriages to actors Charlie Sheen and Heather Locklear, respectively.
IMDB.com reported that they recently rekindled their relationship and have been dating for weeks.
“Denise and Richie never really stopped loving each other,” said a source.
Bon Jovi To Play 70 Unique Songs At London O2 Arena Gigs
Jun 2nd

Bon Jovi have revealed that they aim to play seventy unique songs during their residency at London’s O2 Arena.
The US band are currently in the middle of their 13-night run at the venue, and have already played 54 different songs.
Singer Jon Bon Jovi said that he had been inspired by bakers to continually change the band’s set list.
“Would you buy yesterday’s bread from a baker? These set lists are all made fresh,” he said. “Delivered every night at 7:30…the delivery men wait outside my door, patiently for its arrival.”
Bon Jovi’s run at the O2 Arena continues tonight, followed by performances on June 23, 25 and 26.
