Who gets thrown out of a Bon Jovi show?
Mar 31st
94.5 WPST deejay Matt Sneed blogged about his Bon Jovi concert experience, where someone got kicked out of the show!
If that’s not bad enough, one of the commenters over there said that they saw a husband and wife come to blows (ironically, it happened during “Bed of Roses”).
Crazy!

Bon Jovi Rocked Philadelphia!
Mar 25th

Bon Jovi finally made their way to Philly this week, and I was able to score tickets to Wednesday’s show!
First off, the set list (courtesy of Blame It On The Love):
- Happy Now
- We Weren’t Born To Follow
- You Give Love a Bad Name
- Thorn In My Side
- Born To Be My Baby
- Lost Highway
- Captain Crash & The Beauty Queen From Mars
- I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead
- When We Were Beautiful
- Superman Tonight
- We Got It Goin’ On
- Bad Medicine w/ Bad Case Of Loving You [Robert Palmer cover] / Shout [The Isley Brothers cover]
- It’s My Life
- Homebound Train [Richie Sambora on lead vocals]
- (You Want To) Make A Memory
- Bed Of Roses

- Keep The Faith
- Work For The Working Man
- Who Says You Cant Go Home
- Love’s The Only Rule
- Only Lonely (ENCORE)
- Wanted Dead Or Alive (ENCORE)
- Livin’ On A Prayer (ENCORE)
From all accounts, Wednesday had the better set list, so that worked out well for me.
Philly.com posted a review of Tuesday’s show, along with a bunch of behind-the-scenes pictures which are pretty cool. Looking at the comments on there, it seems that there were some mixed feelings about the show. You’re always going to have some people you can’t please, but from my view, everyone looked to be having a great time!
Want to see some video from the show? I left my Flip cam at home (pretty sure they wouldn’t have let me in with it), but Deb308 posted a handful of videos on YouTube. The quality’s not great, but she probably recorded it with her cell phone or something.
Also, 94.1 WYSP (the local Rock station in Philadelphia) posted a Bon Jovi Photo Gallery that’s definitely worth checking out. Nothing from this show, but 44 pictures from various events over the past year or so.
It was quite a night, and my ears are still faintly ringing. That’s all for now!
Bon Jovi Gives ‘Free’ Show at Wachovia Center
Mar 22nd

Jon Bon Jovi, whose Philadelphia Soul team won the Arena Football League’s championship game but folded with the rest of the league, will give a free, special-ticketed performance for former Philadelphia Soul season ticket holders and fans, he announced on Friday.
The concert will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center.
In addition to season ticket holders – who have been alerted through direct e-mail, fans can enter to win tickets through Philly radio station 93.3 WMMR-FM online at www.wmmr.com and through on-air call outs on WMMR leading up to the show.
The announcement honors a commitment made by Jon Bon Jovi on WMMR’s “Preston and Steve show” when he predicted a championship win for his Arena Football team and promised a free performance if his prediction proved true.
The Philadelphia Soul claimed victory at the July 2008 ArenaBowl, but the Arena Football League had simultaneously begun its own fight for survival that spanned two years and resulted in the suspension of League operations.
If you can’t get tickets to the free show, you can tune in live via a commercial-free radio broadcast at 93.3FM in Philadelphia or stream it live via www.wmmr.com.

Bon Jovi Looking For Local Bands To Open
Mar 21st

In two separate instances, Bon Jovi has put out the call that they’re looking for some local bands to open for them on tour.
When Bon Jovi comes to the Mohegan Sun Arena to perform two concerts on March 26 & 27, they will share the stage with two lucky, up-and-coming local bands.
To facilitate the competition, Bon Jovi has partnered with local radio stations The River 105.9 FM, Country 92.5 FM and KISS ! 95.7 FM to run a contest on-air, online and through station newsletters. The “Opening Act Contest,” which launches today, is open to all bands in the Connecticut region. Each band can enter at www.theriver1059.com, www.kiss957.com or www.country925.com by following the homepage banners linked to a dedicated webpage and submitting a video of themselves playing an original song.
And when Bon Jovi comes to the Xcel Energy Center on April 7 & 8, they’ll need an opening act — And they’re extending that invitation to two lucky Twin Cities’ bands.
To find these performers, Bon Jovi has partnered with KQRS for an “Opening Act Contest,” where local bands can sign up for a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to open for Bon Jovi. Each band can enter at KQRS’ Web site by following the homepage banners and submitting a video of themselves playing an original song.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winning bands, and it’s an interesting trend that I personally would love to see continue!
Living On A Prayer Acoustic Cover
Mar 20th
While floating around the web today, I came across this cover of Living On A Prayer by J. Lynn. I don’t know if the mustache is for real, or some sort of inside joke.. But that’s all I could focus on throughout the song.
Thanks to iJustine for the heads-up on this video.

Platinum Tickets Available for Bon Jovi UK Shows
Mar 18th

Our friends across the pond over at Ticketmaster UK just informed us that they’ve got a handful of Platinum Tickets for Bon Jovi’s shows at The O2 in London. Bon Jovi will be doing 12 shows at The O2 – From June 7th until June 26th.
The tickets are pretty expensive, but they’re absolutely amazing seats!
Hey, I'd love to see Bon Jovi from 3rd Row in the Pit, but not for £960. But if you can afford it, then by all means, go for it! (And send us back some pictures)
Top 10 Bon Jovi Videos
Mar 16th

Marcus Leshock over at Chicago Now recently posted “The 10 Best Bon Jovi Videos Ever”, and it’s an interesting read, complete with accompanying videos from YouTube!
In any event, if you’re ADD like me, here’s his list:
#10: Lie to Me (1995)
#9: Bed of Roses (1992)
#8: Never Say Goodbye (1986)
#7: This Ain’t A Love Song (1995)
#6: In and Out of Love (1985)
#5: You Give Love A Bad Name (1986)
#4: She Don’t Know Me (1984)
#3: Livin’ On A Prayer (1986)
#2: Wanted Dead Or Alive (1986)
#1: Runaway (1984)
An interesting list, though I’d probably rearrange a few of those choices.. (And take Bed of Roses off the list completely)
What’s your Top 10 list?
